The Orange Lanterns go crazy and completely single-minded even more than usual as achieving bliss is the ultimate desire. Anyway, to receive a Gold Lantern ring you either need to be at an immense positive emotional high or have lived a life that lacks misery entirely, both of which are very rare and make anyone who uses a Gold Lantern ring go insane from the unfathomable joy and happiness they experience.Īs for how the gold energy interacts with other lanterns it weakens Blue Lanterns, as hope is the belief that things will get better in times of sorrow, and when in that blissful state there's no need to hope. For the record I'm a realist so I'm not saying that bliss and happiness don't exist but that the extreme version of those emotions ignores negative factors. Utopia is an alien horse creature that is eternal racing across the stars only focusing on the beauty of the universe and ignoring everything else. So my version of the Gold Lanterns is powered by bliss and immense joy, their unique power is power repellent as their vision of immense bliss ignores everything around them that's negative and also immense speed which is tied to their emotional entity I call Utopia. So let's use that for a redesign of the Gold Lanterns. Which is oddly what most people think of when they think of the Gold Lanterns. But a small bit of the lore that was changed was that the gold lanterns are powered by joy and bliss and make you insane as a result. There's no oath or emotional entity for the corps and the emblem while kinda unique is not that interesting. The emotion if you can even call it that is Justice which is dumb. The main source of information about this corps is from a character who didn't last long and is from the future. This is understandable, it's not well-established, and what is established is kinda stupid. So the Gold Lanterns is not a popular concept within the community.
